1. A method of processing data derived from a sensor disposed on a substantially autonomous intestinal probe, said data having been generated while said probe moved substantially autonomously through the intestinal tract of a living being, and said processing facilitating rapid evaluation of said data, comprising:
- receiving said data at a location distant from said probe via a network interface; and
using a computerized device having at least one computer program configured to run thereon and in data communication with said network interface, processing at least a portion of said received data at said distant location, said processing at said distant location comprising;
processing said at least portion of said received data so as to divide said at least portion of data into a plurality of frames;
generating a display comprising a plurality of images, at least a portion of said plurality of images corresponding to one or more of said frames of said divided data;
receiving user input as to one or more of said frames being selected for review; and
presenting pre-stored data for use in comparison to at least one of said selected frames, said comparison facilitating identification of one or more physiologic conditions within said subject;
wherein said display comprises a computer screen, said computer screen configured to display respective portions of said divided data simultaneously in different portions thereof, and said simultaneous display decreasing an overall time necessary for reviewing said obtained data.

Abstract
An improved endoscopic device which is introduced into the intestinal tract of a living organism and which operates autonomously therein, adapted to obtain and store or transmit one or more types of data such as visual image data, laser autofluorescence data, or ultrasonic waveform data. In another aspect of the invention, an improved endoscopic device useful for implanting the aforementioned endoscopic smart probe is disclosed. In another aspect of the invention, apparatus for delivering agents including nanostructures, radionuclides, medication, and ligands is disclosed. In another aspect of the invention, apparatus for obtaining a biopsy of intestinal tissue is disclosed. In another aspect of the invention, apparatus for detecting the presence of one or more molecular species within the intestine is disclosed. Methods for inspecting and/or treating the interior regions of the intestinal tract using the aforementioned apparatus are also disclosed.

A method of processing data derived from a sensor disposed on a substantially autonomous intestinal probe, said data having been generated while said probe moved substantially autonomously through the intestinal tract of a living being, and said processing facilitating rapid evaluation of said data, comprising:

receiving said data at a location distant from said probe via a network interface; and using a computerized device having at least one computer program configured to run thereon and in data communication with said network interface, processing at least a portion of said received data at said distant location, said processing at said distant location comprising; processing said at least portion of said received data so as to divide said at least portion of data into a plurality of frames; generating a display comprising a plurality of images, at least a portion of said plurality of images corresponding to one or more of said frames of said divided data; receiving user input as to one or more of said frames being selected for review; and presenting pre-stored data for use in comparison to at least one of said selected frames, said comparison facilitating identification of one or more physiologic conditions within said subject; wherein said display comprises a computer screen, said computer screen configured to display respective portions of said divided data simultaneously in different portions thereof, and said simultaneous display decreasing an overall time necessary for reviewing said obtained data. - View Dependent Claims (2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15)

A non-transitory computer readable apparatus having a storage medium and being adapted to store at least one computer program thereon, said at least one computer program being configured to process at least first and second data derived from at least first and second sensors, respectively, said sensors disposed on substantially autonomous intestinal probes so as to facilitate rapid viewing thereof by a user, each of said at least first and second sensors being disposed within an intestinal tract of a different ones of living beings, the computer program which, when executed:

receives, at a location distant from said probe via a network interface, at least a portion of said at least first and second data obtained using said at least first and second sensors, said at least first and second data generated while said probes moved substantially autonomously through the intestinal tract of said living beings; and using a computerized device having at least one computer program configured to run thereon and in data communication with said network interface, processes at least a portion of said received at least first and second data at said distant location, said processing at said distant location comprising; processing said at least portion of said received at least first and second data so as to segregate said at least first and second data into a plurality of frames corresponding to individual ones of said living beings; generation of a display having at least two portions, said portions simultaneously displaying data corresponding to said at least first and second sensors, said display comprising a plurality of images, at least a portion of said plurality of images corresponding to one or more of said frames of said divided data; receipt of user input as to one or more of said frames being selected for review; and presentation of pre-stored data for use in comparison to at least one of said selected frames, said comparison facilitating identification of one or more physiologic conditions within said being.

a network interface configured to enable receipt of said data at a different location from that of said probe; and a computerized device having a display device and at least one computer program configured to run thereon and in data communication with said network interface, said computerized device being configured to process at least a portion of said received data by at least; processing said at least portion of said received data so as to divide said at least portion of data into at least a first plurality of frames and second plurality of frames; generating on said display device information comprising at least first and second images, said at least first and second images corresponding to respective ones of said at least first plurality of frames and said second plurality of frames; receiving user input as to one or more of said images being selected for review; and presenting pre-stored data for use in comparison to at least one of said selected images, said comparison facilitating identification of one or more physiologic conditions within said subject; wherein said computer screen displays said first and second images simultaneously in different portions thereof, said simultaneous display decreasing an overall time necessary for reviewing said obtained data. - View Dependent Claims (34, 35, 36, 37, 38, 39, 40, 41, 42)
