Thyroid hormone analogs and methods of use
First Claim
1. A method for treating a condition amenable to treatment by inhibiting angiogenesis, said method comprising administering to a subject in need thereof an amount of an anti-angiogenesis agent effective for inhibiting angiogenesis in said subject, wherein said condition amenable to treatment by inhibiting angiogenesis is glioma, wherein said anti-angiogenesis agent is tetraiodothyroacetic acid (TETRAC), triiodothyroacetic acid (TRIAC), or combinations thereof, and wherein the agent effective for inhibiting angiogenesis acts at the cell surface and is conjugated via a covalent bond to a polymer selected from the group consisting of polyglycolide, polylactide, and co-polymers thereof.
