1. A system for selectively advancing a medical device into a patient;

  • comprising;

    a delivery catheter having a distal end that is adapted to be inserted into a patient'"'"'s body, a proximal end adapted to remain outside the patient'"'"'s body and one or more lumens that extend between the proximal end and distal end;

    a cartridge that is engageable with the proximal end of the delivery catheter, the cartridge including a lumen that aligns with a lumen in the delivery catheter when the cartridge is engaged with the proximal end of the delivery catheter;

    a medical device adapted to be disposed within the lumen of the cartridge;

    an actuator associated with a handle, the actuator adapted to be actuated to axially displace the cartridge and delivery catheter relative to the handle and medical device; and

    an advancing member adapted to engage the medical device.
