1. A method for a generating relevant moving thumbnail from a moving thumbnail generator hosted on a server, comprising:

  • generating two or more moving thumbnails that are tagged with information about content that takes place in an associated original video file and metadata about that content, wherein each of the moving thumbnails is associated with an arbitrary video trigger event and comprises two or more frames derived from its associated video file, a first moving thumbnail providing a first animation based on two or more frames in sequence and associated with a first video file, a second moving thumbnail providing a second animation based on two or more frames in sequence and associated with a second video file, wherein the first animation and the second animation are displayed on a video wall in a grid pattern at the same time with animations associated with other moving thumbnails included in a search result;

    associating a relational link back to the original video file with each moving thumbnail, where the relational link can used to retrieve the original video file;

    storing the two or more moving thumbnails on a database associated with the server, where a tag associated with the first moving thumbnail contains the information about content that takes place in the first original video file in a searchable format, and a portion of the original video file that is relevant to a user'"'"'s query input for relevant moving thumbnails to the query is returned in each moving thumbnail that is displayed as the search results to the user'"'"'s query input; and

    based on detecting a cursor hovering over the first moving thumbnail, causing the first moving thumbnail to enlarge, causing audio information associated with the first moving thumbnail to be audible, and causing textual description of content of the first moving thumbnail to be visible.
