1. A method of sending a message using a business card, the method comprising the steps of:

  • sensing, by a sensor module in a media feed path of a communications device, coded data on a surface of the business card, the coded data encoding an identifier which uniquely identifies the surface;

    determining, by a processor of the communications device, from the sensed coded data the identifier;

    retrieving, by the processor, using the identifier, a representation of the business card;

    displaying on a display of the communications device the representation of the business card, the representation including a plurality of fields with one of the fields being a messaging field;

    receiving, by the processor, a selection of the messaging field;

    retrieving, by the processor, a communications address from a database where the communications address is indexed by the identifier; and

    opening, by a processing device, a message editor, with a current message being addressed to the communications address.
