1. A display comprisinga substrate,a first patternable coatable electrically conductive layer disposed over the substrate,an imaging layer comprising light modulating material disposed over said first patternable fluid-coated electrically conductive layer, wherein said light modulating material has a first and a second field-switched stable optical state;

  • a dark layer disposed over the imaging layer and configured to at least one of absorb and or reflect radiation,a second patternable coatable electrically conductive layer including a plurality of laser-etched conductors disposed over the dark layer, wherein said second patternable coatable electrically conductive layer includes fluid-coated electrically conductive metallic silver particles, said fluid-coated electrically conductive metallic silver particles having sufficient conductivity to induce an electric field strong enough to change the optical state of said light modulating material, and wherein the thickness of the second patternable coatable electrically conductive layer is less than 1 micron.
