A mobile switching center (MSC) module is embedded in the computer readable storage medium. The MSC module includes an authentication, authorization, and accounting (AAA) module configured to support generation of call detail records at the communication apparatus. A base station controller (BSC) module is also embedded in the computer readable storage medium. The communication apparatus is adapted to transmit Internet Protocol (IP) packet data to a second apparatus via a peer-to-peer IP connection.
