1. In a boost DC/DC power converter having a low voltage source, an inductor and a switching device coupled to form a series loop wherein the junction of the low voltage battery and switching device is coupled to a ground;

  • a diode in series with a capacitor coupled across said switching device;

    a voltage divider coupled across the capacitor; and

    a pulse width modulator coupled across the voltage divider to receive power and to the voltage divider to receive an input from the voltage divider to provide an input to a control terminal of the switching device, said converter comprising;

    a first push controller coupled across said switching device,wherein said low voltage source by itself is not capable of generating a voltage of sufficient magnitude to operate the switching device, andwherein the first push circuit provides a first push voltage of sufficient magnitude to turn the switching device on.
