1. A method for alleviating distorted signals in a nonlinear system, comprising:

  • sampling a reference signal at a plurality of sample rates to obtain a plurality of sampled reference signals, wherein the reference signal varies in accordance with a reference clock and wherein the reference signal is limited to a predetermined frequency bandwidth prior to sampling;

    selecting a particular one of the plurality of sampled reference signals in order to eliminate spurious frequency interference;

    switching between the plurality of sampled reference signals when a boundary crossover between interference regions of the plurality of sample rates is detected; and

    determining interference regions in the plurality of sample rates.
