Negotiated wireless peripheral security systems
First Claim
1. A method comprising:
- with a computerized handheld device comprising an internal display surface, and a built-in miniature display projector;
producing one or more signals representing a first raster image;
displaying the first raster image on the internal display surface;
producing one or more signals representing a second raster image; and
optically projecting the second raster image onto a display surface that is external to the computerized handheld device using the built-in miniature display projector, wherein the first raster image comprises an area constrained version of a user interface and the second raster image comprises a non-area constrained version of the user interface.

Abstract
Methods, apparatus, and business techniques are disclosed for use in mobile network communication systems. A mobile unit such as a smart phone is preferably equipped with a wireless local area network connection and a wireless wide area network connection. The local area network connection is used to establish a position-dependent ecommerce network connection with a wireless peripheral supplied by a vendor. The mobile unit is then temporarily augmented with the added peripheral services supplied by the negotiated wireless peripheral. Systems and methods allow the mobile unit to communicate securely with a remote server, even when the negotiated wireless peripheral is not fully trusted. Also mobile units, wireless user peripherals, and negotiated wireless peripherals that project a non-area constrained user interface image on a display surface are taught.

8. A method comprising:
with a computerized handheld device that comprises a built-in miniature display projector, an internal display device, and a storage medium configured to store digital content; generating one or more signals representing a raster image representation of at least a portion of the stored digital content to generate a non-area constrained version of a user interface that is displayable via the internal display as an area constrained version of the user interface; coupling the raster image representation to the built-in miniature display projector; and optically projecting the raster image representation onto a display surface external to the computerized handheld device to display a non-area constrained version of the user interface. - View Dependent Claims (9, 10, 11, 12, 13)
