Drug delivery medical devices
First Claim
1. A medical device comprising a balloon and a drug delivery mechanism attached to the balloon, wherein the medical device is of a size suitable for delivering a composition comprising at least one bioactive agent to a vessel in a lesion site of a vascular tissue, wherein the balloon expands in response to pressure to contact a wall of the vessel to open the vessel, wherein the drug delivery mechanism comprises an ejection mechanism, wherein the drug delivery mechanism further comprises a microneedle comprising an inner cavity that is communicable with the balloon through the ejection mechanism, andwherein the ejection mechanism is capable of ejecting the composition into the vascular tissue through the microneedle.
