1. A suture anchor, comprising:
- an elongate body having proximal and distal ends with an inner lumen extending therethrough, and at least one bone-engaging surface feature formed on at least a portion of an external surface thereof for engaging bone, the inner lumen including a suture-engaging member extending substantially transverse to an axis of the inner lumen and adapted to receive a suture therearound such that the suture can extend around the suture-engaging member and trailing ends of the suture can extend through the inner lumen and out of the proximal end of the elongate body, and the inner lumen having a first cross-sectional shape proximal to the suture-engaging member and a second, different cross-sectional shape distal to the suture-engaging member wherein the elongate body includes cut-outs formed in opposed sidewalls thereof and extending proximally from the distal end of the elongate body, the cut-outs defining opposed distal arms of the suture anchor, and wherein the at least one bone-engaging surface feature comprises a thread disposed around the elongate body and terminating proximal to the distal arms.

Abstract
Methods and devices are provided for anchoring suture to bone. In one exemplary embodiment, a cannulated suture anchor is provided and it includes a suture-engaging member formed therein and configured to receive a suture therearound such that trailing ends of the suture can extend through the suture anchor. The present invention also provides exemplary sutures and drivers that can be used with the various methods and devices disclosed herein, or with other methods and devices known in the art.

11. A suture anchor, comprising:
-
a suture; and a cannulated body having proximal and distal ends, the distal end including opposed cut-outs formed in opposed sidewalls thereof and a suture-engaging member extending between the opposed sidewalls and adjacent to the opposed cut-outs such that the suture extends around the suture-engaging member and trailing ends of the suture extend through the body, wherein an interior surface of the cannulated body proximal to proximal-most ends of the cut-outs has a first cross-sectional shape and has a second, different cross-sectional shape between the proximal-most ends of the cut-outs and a proximal-most end of the suture-engaging member wherein the opposed cut-outs define distal arms, and wherein the cannulated body is only threaded proximal to the distal arms. - View Dependent Claims (12, 13, 14, 15, 16)

17. A suture anchor, comprising:
-
a suture anchor having an inner lumen extending between proximal and distal ends thereof, the distal end including opposed cut-outs formed in opposed sidewalls of the suture anchor, the cut-outs defining opposed distal arms of the suture anchor, and the inner lumen defining a longitudinal axis extending between the proximal and distal ends of the suture anchor; at least one bone-engaging feature formed on an external surface of the suture anchor for engaging bone, the at least one bone-engaging feature extending around a perimeter of the external surface and being positioned entirely proximal to the distal arms; a suture-engaging member extending substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis, and extending between opposed surfaces of the distal arms such that the suture-engaging member is at a fixed longitudinal position relative to the distal arms; and a suture having first and second portions of the suture positioned in the inner lumen, and having a mid-portion located between the first and second portions positioned around the suture engaging member, wherein the inner lumen has a first cross-sectional shape proximal to proximal-most ends of the distal arms and a second, different cross-sectional shape between the suture-engaging member and the proximal-most ends of the distal arms. - View Dependent Claims (18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24)
