1. A data processing method for a receiving system, comprising:

  • receiving a broadcast signal including a fast information channel (FIC), a transmission parameter channel (TPC) being different from the FIC, and mobile service data for a Reed-Solomon (RS) frame, wherein the FIC includes cross-layer information for mobile service acquisition, wherein the TPC includes FIC version information for identifying updates of the FIC, and wherein data of the TPC is RS-encoded at a first code rate via a first path, and data of the FIC is block-interleaved after being RS-encoded at a second code rate via a second path;

    decoding the RS frame from the received broadcast signal;

    acquiring an ensemble identified by an ensemble identifier from the decoded RS frame;

    acquiring a service map table (SMT) from the ensemble, wherein the SMT includes access information for a mobile service included in the ensemble and service type information for identifying a category of the mobile service; and

    acquiring, by a decoder, the service type information indicating that service guide data of the mobile service is received through a service guide-related channel,wherein the ensemble is carried through a parade, the parade being a collection of data groups, and the TPC further includes information for a parade repetition cycle representing a specific frequency of transmission of a parade carrying a particular ensemble,wherein each of the data groups includes a first known data sequence and a second known data sequence, and wherein an area between the first known data sequence and the second known data sequence of each data group is filled by the TPC and FIC, andwherein the TPC is included in each of the data groups belonging to the parade and wherein the same information for the parade repetition cycle is received repeatedly through the data groups of the parade.
