1. An acetabular prosthesis system to replace at least a portion of an acetabulum in an anatomy, comprising:

  • a trial prosthetic cup operable to be positioned in a prepared acetabulum of the anatomy;

    an implantable prosthetic cup configured to be positioned in the prepared acetabulum of the anatomy in an alignment as determined with the trial prosthetic cup, the implantable prosthetic cup formed of a material that is substantially porous throughout and having a substantially concave inner surface, and a substantially convex outer surface;

    a trial bearing liner to be positioned in a first position relative to the implantable prosthetic cup;

    a trial cement mantle removably positionable between the implantable prosthetic cup and the trial bearing liner to assist in holding the trial bearing liner relative to the implantable prosthetic cup in the first position and removable from the prosthetic cup, the trial cement mantle used to replicate a cement mantle that is formed during a procedure to hold or fix the implantable prosthetic cup in place;

    an implantable bearing liner separate from and positionable in the implantable prosthetic cup separate from the trial liner and the trial cement mantle;

    a trial liner fixation member to substantially immovably fix the trial bearing liner relative to at least one of the implantable prosthetic cup or the trial cement mantle during a trial phase; and

    wherein the trial bearing liner includes a substantially convex exterior surface, a substantially concave interior surface, and a passage extending between and through the exterior surface and the interior surface and operable to allow the trial bearing liner fixation member to pass therethrough;

    wherein the trial liner fixation member includes a shank and a head portion, wherein the shank portion extends through the passage and the head portion bears against the trial bearing liner to hold the trial bearing liner in the first position.
