1. A device for producing a three-dimensional object from a solidifiable material comprising:

  • an imaging unit comprising a predetermined number of discrete imaging elements;

    an imaging unit controller configured to control the discrete imaging elements, wherein each of the discrete imaging elements corresponds to a location on an exposed surface of the solidifiable material and projects electromagnetic radiation based on a corresponding scaled intensity value onto the corresponding location on the exposed surface of the solidifiable material, and each scaled intensity value is based on a corresponding compensation light intensity value and a degree of overlap between the location on the exposed surface of the solidifiable material to which the scaled intensity value corresponds and a graphic depicting the three-dimensional object.
