System for facility management of medical data and patient interface

1. A system comprising:
- a medical data server, the medical data server comprising a user interface;
a medical data interchange device, the medical data interchange device comprising;
a processor;
a medical device interface configured to communicate with a plurality of medical devices;
a data relay transceiver; and
a memory coupled to the processor and storing instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to;
automatically detect, based on a wireless signal received via the medical device interface, a communication protocol used by one or more of the second plurality of medical devices;
transition the medical data interchange device from a quiescent state to an active state in response to the signal to prepare the medical data interchange device to receive data from the medical device;
broadcast, using the medical device interface, an authorization code stored in the memory in response to a request for authorization, the authorization code for authenticating, by the medical device, the medical data interchange device;
in response to the detected wireless signal, automatically configure the medical device interface to communicate using a frequency used by the one or more of the plurality of medical devices and a communication protocol used by the one or more of the plurality of medical devices;
receive, using the device interface, data for a plurality of patients from the plurality of medical devices, wherein the received data includes a location for at least one of the plurality of patients;
transmit a message including the received data, using the data relay transceiver, to one or more of;
the medical data server; and
an intermediary device, wherein the intermediary device includes a software program configured to retransmit the message to the medical data server;
wherein the medical data server is configured to;
extract the data for a plurality of patients from the message;
respectively associate the data for the plurality of patients with a plurality of graphical patient indicia; and
present the graphical patient indicia on a map using the user interface, wherein the graphical patient indicia are arranged in accordance with respective location data for the plurality of patients on the map.

Abstract
A system according to the present invention includes a processor, a device interface, a data relay transceiver, and a memory coupled to the processor. The memory stores instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to receive, using the device interface, data for a plurality of patients from a medical device. The received data includes a location for at least one of the plurality of patients. The memory further stores instructions to cause the processor to transmit a message including the received data, using the data relay transceiver, to one or more of: a provided medical data server; and a provided intermediary device. The intermediary device includes a software program configured to retransmit the message to the medical data server.
