1. A method for noninvasive glucose sensing comprising the steps of:

  • directing waves including electromagnetic waves, ultrasonic waves or a combination of electromagnetic waves and ultrasonic waves into a target tissue having at least two layers, measuring reflected waves reflected from boundaries between the target tissue and its surroundings and from boundaries between the layers of the target tissue, calculating a value of at least one dimension of the target tissue from the reflected waves, anddetermining a glucose value from the value of the at least one dimension of the target tissue in accordance with a target tissue dimension calibration curve, where the calibration curve correlates the value of the at least one dimension to a corresponding glucose value.
