1. A steerable medical device, comprising:

  • an elongated member extending along a longitudinal axis and including a proximal end and a distal end and defining a lumen extending from the proximal end to the distal end, the elongated member comprising a deflectable portion that includes the distal end and that is movable off of the longitudinal axis;

    a steering mechanism adapted to control movement of the deflectable portion of the elongated member, at least a portion of the steering mechanism fixedly coupled to at least a portion of the elongated member such that rotation of the steering mechanism in one direction about the longitudinal axis correspondingly rotates the elongated member in that one direction about the longitudinal axis; and

    an attachment member removably couplable to another medical device, the elongated member and steering mechanism movably coupled to the attachment member; and

    wherein the steering mechanism includes a fastener, the fastener having a locked position and an unlocked position, the steering mechanism and the elongated member independently movable of the attachment member when the fastener is in its unlocked position;
