Abstract

A kit is disclosed that includes a first component comprising alginate, wherein the first component is comprised in a first sterile vial, and a second component comprising cells comprising keratinocytes or fibroblasts, or mixtures thereof, that secrete one or more biologically active molecules selected from the group consisting of GM-CSF, VEGF, KGF, bFGF, TGFβ, angiopoietin, EGF, IL-Iβ, IL-6, IL-8, TGFα, and TNFα, wherein the cells are allogeneic and mitotically inactive, a buffered solution, and human serum albumin or a cryoprotectant, wherein the second component is comprised in a second sterile vial.

Claims

1. A kit comprising:

(a) a first component comprising alginate, wherein the first component is comprised in a first sterile vial; and

(b) a second component comprising;

cells comprising keratinocytes or fibroblasts, or mixtures thereof, that secrete one or more biologically active molecules selected from the group consisting of GM-CSF, VEGF, KGF, bFGF, TGFβ

, angiopoietin, EGF, IL-Iβ

, IL-6, IL-8, TGFα

, and TNFα

, wherein the cells are allogeneic and mitotically inactive;

a buffered solution; and

human serum albumin or a cryoprotectant,

wherein the second component is comprised in a second sterile vial.

2. The kit of claim 1, wherein the cells are mitotically inactivated by irradiation.

3. The kit of claim 1, wherein the second component comprises keratinocytes and fibroblasts and the ratio of keratinocytes to fibroblasts is 1:

4. The kit of claim 1, wherein the second component comprises human serum albumin and a cryoprotectant.

5. The kit of claim 1, wherein the buffered solution is HBSS.

6. The kit of claim 1, wherein the buffered solution comprises Ca⁺⁺.

7. The kit of claim 1, wherein the second component comprises human serum albumin.

8. The kit of claim 1, wherein the second component comprises a cryoprotectant.

9. The kit of claim 8, wherein the cryoprotectant is glycerol.

10. The kit of claim 8, wherein the second component is cryopreserved.

11. The kit of claim 1, further comprising a first and a second removable lid, wherein the first removable lid is affixed to the first sterile vial and the second removable lid is affixed to the second sterile vial.

12. The kit of claim 11, further comprising spray pumps capable of replacing the removable lids.

13. The kit of claim 11, further comprising a first and a second pouch, wherein the first sterile vial is comprised in the first pouch and the second sterile vial is comprised in the second pouch.

14. The kit of claim 13, wherein the first and second pouches are fabricated of a material capable of withstanding temperatures ranging from −
