Abstract

Disclosed herein are a method, system, and computer-readable storage medium with instructions for recommending locations to a user. Preferred criteria may be selected by the user, for example, or a third party, and provide objective or subjective information that the user is seeking in a location. Embodiments may include compiling objective information with the location and comparing the objective information to preferred criteria. A user'"'"'s profile may be compared to an other person'"'"'s profile, where the other person'"'"'s profile is associated to the location. A location may be recommended to the user if the objective information correlates to the preferred criteria and if the other person'"'"'s profile correlates to the user'"'"'s profile. Subjective information associated with the location may be provided to the user along with the recommended location. Furthermore, a location may be recommended to the user if the subjective information correlates to the preferred criteria.

Claims

1. A method of recommending a location of one or more interests in real estate to a user and providing subjective information, the method comprising:

compiling objective information associated with a plurality of locations;

comparing the objective information to preferred criteria of the user;

compiling subjective information associated with a plurality of locations;

comparing the subjective information to the preferred criteria of the user;

determining whether there is at least one matching location of an interest in real estate that has compiled objective information and compiled subjective information that correlates at least in part to the preferred criteria of the user;

recommending the at least one matching location to the user;

wherein recommending the location to the user comprises automatically generating a search report and providing the search report to the user;

ranking the recommended at least one matching location based on a level of correlation of the compiled objective information and the compiled subjective information with the at least one matching location;

eliminating, from the ranking of the recommended at least one matching location, a location having no correlation between the preferred criteria of the user and at least one of;

the compiled objective information and the compiled subjective information;

providing a portion of the subjective information associated with the recommended location to the user in response to a request made by the user, as a part of the preferred criteria, associated with receiving the portion of the subjective information; and

wherein at least a portion of the compiled subjective information is provided by a social network.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the subjective information associated with the location provided to the user at least in part correlates to the preferred criteria.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein the preferred criteria is at least one of:

objective location information or subjective location information.

4. The method of claim 1, wherein the subjective information provided is associated with another person'"'"'s profile, the other person'"'"'s profile at least in part correlating to the user'"'"'s profile.

5. The method of claim 1, wherein the objective location information is at least one of:

realty information, an available realty location, neighborhood demographics, or realty sale history.

6. A system for recommending a location of one or more interests in real estate to a user and providing subjective information, the system comprising:

a processor; and

a storage device having machine-readable instructions contained therein, which when executed cause the processor to;

compile objective information associated with a plurality of locations;

compare the objective information to preferred criteria of the user;

compile subjective information associated with a plurality of locations;

compare the subjective information to the preferred criteria of the user;

determine whether there is at least one matching location of an interest in real estate that has compiled objective information and compiled subjective information that correlates at least in part to the preferred criteria of the user;

recommend the at least one matching location to the user;

rank the recommended at least one matching location based on a level of correlation of the compiled objective information and the compiled subjective information with the at least one matching location;

wherein the subsystem that recommends the location to the user automatically generates a search report and provides the search report to the user;

eliminate, from the ranking of the recommended at least one matching location, a location having no correlation between the preferred criteria of the user and at least one of;

the compiled objective information and the compiled subjective information;

provide a portion of the subjective information associated with the recommended location to the user in response to a request made by the user, as a part of the preferred criteria, associated with receiving the portion of the subjective information; and

wherein at least a portion of the compiled subjective information is provided by a social network.

7. The system of claim 6, wherein the subjective information associated with the location provided to the user at least in part correlates to the preferred criteria.

8. The system of claim 6, wherein the preferred criteria is at least one of:

objective location information or subjective location information.

9. The system of claim 6, wherein the subjective information provided is associated with an other person'"'"'s profile, the other person'"'"'s profile at least in part correlating to the user'"'"'s profile.

10. The system of claim 6, wherein the objective location information is at least one of:

realty information, an available realty location, neighborhood demographics, or realty sale history.

11. A computer-readable storage medium comprising computer-readable instructions for recommending a location of one or more interests in real estate to a user and providing subjective information, the computer-readable instructions comprising instructions that:

compile objective information associated with a plurality of locations;

compare the objective information to preferred criteria of the user;

compile subjective information associated with a plurality of locations;

compare the subjective information to the preferred criteria of the user;

determine whether there is at least one matching location of an interest in real estate that has compiled objective information and compiled subjective information that correlates at least in part to the preferred criteria of the user;

recommend the at least one matching location to the user;

wherein the instructions that recommend the location to the user comprise automatically generating a search report and providing the search report to the user;

rank the recommended at least one matching location based on a level of correlation of the compiled objective information and the compiled subjective information with the at least one matching location;

eliminate, from the ranking of the recommended at least one matching location, a location having no correlation between the preferred criteria of the user and at least one of;

the compiled objective information and the compiled subjective information;

provide a portion of the subjective information associated with the recommended location to the user in response to a request made by the user, as a part of the preferred criteria, associated with receiving the portion of the subjective information; and

wherein at least a portion of the compiled subjective information is provided by a social network.

12. The computer-readable storage medium of claim 11, wherein the subjective information associated with the location provided to the user at least in part correlate to the preferred criteria.

13. The computer-readable storage medium of claim 11, wherein the preferred criteria is at least one of:

objective location information or subjective location information.

14. The computer-readable storage medium of claim 11, wherein the subjective information provided is associated with an other person'"'"'s profile, the other person'"'"'s profile at least in part correlating to the user'"'"'s profile.

15. The computer-readable storage medium of claim 11, wherein the objective location information is at least one of:

realty information, an available realty location, neighborhood demographics, or realty sale history.
