1. A method of providing a call center with access to an Enhanced 911 network supporting a public safety answering point (PSAP), comprising:

  • determining a unique PSAP having jurisdictional responsibility for a physical current location for a switched telephone device calling a telematics call center;

    converting, said switched telematics call center telephone call into a converted session initiation protocol (SIP) packetized telematics call center telephone call, at said telematics call center;

    querying a VoIP positioning center for call routing instructions for said converted SIP packetized telematics call center phone call; and

    routing said converted SIP packetized telematics call center telephone call from said telematics call center to an emergency services gateway, based on said call routing instructions without further passage through a public switched telephone network (PSTN).
