1. A liquid handling system comprising:
- a container having an interior adapted to hold a liquid and defining an opening;
a cap coupled to the container adjacent to the opening;
a connector adapted for physically coupling to the cap, the connector having an internal flow passage to permit extraction or dispensation of the liquid from the interior of the container;
an information storage element coupled with the container and adapted to store information relating to the liquid;
a communication element adapted to read information from the information storage element; and
a control element, operably coupled with the communication element, for controlling processing of the liquid based on information read from the information storage element by the communication element.

Abstract
An electronic storage device is coupled with a container capable of holding liquid for electronically storing information relating to the liquid stored in the container. The system can be configured with an antenna, for storing information to and reading information from the electronic storage device. A microprocessor-based controller, coupled with the antenna, may be employed for controlling processing of the liquid based on information read from the electronic storage device by the antenna. A connector of a secure reader system having a reader is provided to physically couple to a container having an information storing mechanism, for periodically reading information from an information storing mechanism. The connector may draw material from the container simultaneous with the reading.

a container adapted to hold a liquid and defining a container opening; a sealing element disposed proximate to the container opening and arranged to seal liquid within the container; a connector securable to a portion of the container along the opening, the connector having an internal flow passage to permit extraction or dispensation of the liquid from the interior of the container through the opening; an information storage element associated with the container, and adapted to store information relating to the liquid; and a verification tool adapted to receive said information from the information storage element prior to securing of said connector to said portion of the container, wherein said information is used to dictate whether the connector should be coupled to said portion of the container. - View Dependent Claims (23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32)
