1. A method for determining sort order, the method comprising:

  • determining, on a computing device, a plurality of search results associated with at least one search criteria;

    determining, on the computing device, a first average distance between a first search result from among the plurality of search results and a first home page associated with the first search result, wherein the value of the first average distance is an average of at least one distance between the first search result and the first home page, wherein each at least one distance is a number of web pages between the first home page and the first search result;

    determining, on the computing device, a second average distance between a second search result from among the plurality of search results and a second home page associated with the second search result, wherein the value of the second average distance is an average of at least one distance between the second search result and the second home page, wherein each at least one distance is a number of web pages between the second home page and the second search result;

    determining, on the computing device, a display order for the plurality of search results at least in part by comparing the first average distance and the second average distance; and

    displaying the plurality of search results in the display order on a user interface by;

    displaying the first search result on the user interface,displaying the first average distance on the user interface proximate to the first search result,displaying the second search result on the user interface, anddisplaying the second average distance on the user interface proximate to the second search result.
