1. A method of treating epilepsy in a subject comprising:

  • at least partially implanting a medical electrical lead system in a brain of a subject, wherein the lead system comprises a lead body comprising a first lumen and a refillable reservoir comprising a second lumen that is in fluid communication with the first lumen and wherein the reservoir is removed from a distal end of the lead body and situated under a surface of the subject'"'"'s head; and

    detecting epileptiform activity or an electrographic seizure in the brain of the subject using at least one signal acquired with the medical electrical lead system,delivering at least one bioactive agent from reservoir and the first lumen so that the at least one bioactive agent moves passively from the reservoir to a region of the brain of the subject upon such detection.
