1. A system for detecting blood content in living tissue comprising:

  • a capsule disposable in a lumen of a living organism, said capsule comprising a detector for detecting a characteristic indicative of blood content of tissue forming the lumen, a transmitter, and a controller for controlling time intervals at which the detector generates a signal indicative of the characteristic, the controller being coupled to the detector;

    a processing unit comprising a receiver for receiving a signal transmitted by the transmitter; and

    a data validator for generating a control signal based on whether the signal indicative of the characteristic satisfies a predetermined condition, wherein the controller is capable of adjusting intermittent time intervals at which the detector detects the characteristic based on the control signal output from the data validator such that when the detected characteristic indicative of the blood content is greater than the predetermined condition of a threshold value, the controller shortens the time intervals for detecting the blood content relative to when the detected characteristic indicative of the blood content is lower than the threshold value.
