1. A clipping device comprising:

  • an insertion tube which includes an insertion tube distal end, an insertion tube proximal end and an abutment portion disposed between the insertion tube distal end and the insertion tube proximal end, the insertion tube being configured to be inserted into a cavity of a living body;

    a sheath which includes a sheath distal end and a sheath proximal end, and which is configured to be inserted into the insertion tube so as to be movable in an axial direction of the insertion tube;

    an operation section which includes an operation section distal end, and the operation section distal end being connected to the sheath proximal end, wherein movement of the operation section relative to the insertion tube causes movement of the sheath relative to the insertion tube;

    an operation wire which includes an operation wire distal end and an operation wire proximal end, and which is configured to be inserted into the sheath so as to be movable in an axial direction of the sheath;

    a moving mechanism which is movably mounted on the operation section and fixed to the operation wire proximal end, and causes the operation wire to move relative to the operation section and the sheath in accordance with movement of the moving mechanism;

    a clip unit which is removably attached to the operation wire distal end; and

    a spacer which includes a base portion and at least three action portions, the base portion having two ends and a longitudinal axis defined by the two ends, and the action portions provided between the two ends of the base portion and crossing the longitudinal axis of the base portion, the spacer being disposed between the abutment portion of the insertion tube and the operation section to restrict movement of the sheath to at least one of the base portion and the action portions of the spacer detachably fixed to the sheath by the action portions moving either up or down against a surface which forms the base portion.
