1. A nasal support device comprising:
- a. a first perimeter edge, the first perimeter edge including;
(i) a middle region and a first and second lateral extent extending away from the middle region;
(ii) the first perimeter edge having a first and second radiused edge positioned lateral to each of the first and second lateral extents, the first radiused edge having a first lateral point furthest from the middle region and the second radiused edge having a second lateral point furthest away from the middle region; and
(iii) a transverse dimension CTextending from the first lateral point to the second lateral point;
b. a second perimeter edge, the second perimeter edge including;
(i) a middle region and a third and fourth lateral extent extending away from the middle region;
(ii) the second perimeter edge having a third and fourth radiused edge positioned lateral to each of the third and fourth lateral extents, the third radiused edge having a third lateral point furthest from the middle region and a fourth radiused edge having a fourth lateral point furthest away from the middle region; and
(iii) a transverse dimension WTextending from the third lateral point to the fourth lateral point, wherein WT is greater than CT;
c. a central region between the first and second perimeter edges, the central region having a central region transverse dimension less than WT;
d. a support layer comprising at least a first lift member, the first lift member having a first length, a middle region and first and second lateral extents extending away from the middle region; and
e. an engaging layer, a portion of the engaging layer extending beyond the lateral extents of the first lift member, the engaging layer being configured for attaching the nasal support device to a nose, and the nasal support device being configured such that the transverse dimension CT and the transverse dimension WT overlie the nose when the nasal support device is attached to the nose.

Abstract
The present disclosure provides a device and method for facilitating air flow in the nasal passage of a domestic animal. The nasal support device (NSD) disclosed herein is useful for facilitating air flow during rest, physical exertion, respiratory ailment, etc. The NSD secures to the nose of a domestic animal to support the unsupported lateral vestibular walls of the nasal passages by lifting or stenting.

17. A nasal support device comprising:
-
a nasal support structure including a first dimension and a second dimension, the first and second dimensions being transversely aligned relative to one another, the second dimension being longer than the first dimension, the nasal support structure having a midline that extends along the first dimension, the nasal support structure being symmetric about the midline; the nasal support structure including a lift member having a length that extends along the second dimension of the nasal support structure, the lift member having an outer shape, the lift member having first and second end portions positioned on opposite sides of the midline of the nasal support structure, the first end portion defining a first bifurcation slot that bifurcates the first end portion, the second end portion defining a second bifurcation slot that bifurcates the second end portion, the first and second bifurcation slots each extending along only a portion of the length of the lift member such that the lift member has a non-bifurcated region positioned between the first and second end portions, and the first and second end portions each including first and second bifurcated segments; and an engaging layer that extends beyond the outer shape of the lift member, the engaging layer being configured for adhering the nasal support device to a nose, the engaging layer defining first and second engaging layer slots that align with the first and second bifurcation slots of the lift member, and the nasal support device being configured such that the first and second bifurcated segments of each of the first and second end portions overlie the nose when the nasal support device is adhered to the nose. - View Dependent Claims (18, 19, 20)
