1. A monitoring system of illumination characteristics of vehicle headlamps comprising:

  • a host control unit comprising;

    a first port configured to receive illumination data associated with one or more vehicle headlamps;

    a second port coupled to a network and configured to communicate information over said network;

    a processor configured to fetch and execute instructions;

    memory storing program code wherein execution of said program code by said processor implements a network accessible user interface between said host control unit and a user computer coupled to said network, wherein said network accessible user interface comprises a real-time display of information based on said illumination data and includes the ability for a user to perform a visual audit by specifying an audit position, andwherein said host control unit is configured to update one of more stored system parameters after receiving visual audit information from said user computer.
