Abstract

A pet toy may include an outer covering and a bladder assembly. The bladder assembly may include a bladder and a squeaker assembly. The squeaker assembly may include one or more ribs. The bladder may include a body and a neck. The neck may have one or more grooves. A rib may engage a groove. The engagement of the rib with the groove may prevent the squeaker assembly from exiting the opening of the bladder when the bladder is compressed. The body of the bladder may have a shape which allows the body to return to the uncompressed state after the body has been compressed. The body may be made of a material which allows the body to return to the uncompressed state after the body has been compressed.

Claims

1. A pet toy comprising an outer covering and a bladder assembly, the bladder assembly includes a bladder and a squeaker assembly, the bladder includes a body and a neck, the neck includes an opening, the squeaker assembly includes a first rib, the first rib is a raised portion, the first rib is positioned within the body.

2. The pet toy as in claim 1 wherein the squeaker assembly includes a second rib.

3. The pet toy as in claim 2 wherein the second rib is positioned within the body.

4. The pet toy as in claim 3 wherein the squeaker assembly includes a third rib.

5. The pet toy as in claim 4 wherein the third rib is positioned in the neck.

6. The pet toy as in claim 5 wherein opening includes a groove, the third rib engages the groove.

7. The pet toy as in claim 5 wherein the body has a spherical shape.

8. The pet toy as in claim 2 wherein the second rib is positioned within the neck.

9. The pet toy as in claim 8 wherein the opening includes a groove, the second rib engages the groove.

10. The pet toy as in claim 1 wherein the body has a spherical shape.

11. The pet toy as in claim 1 wherein the body has a flattened spherical shape.

12. The pet toy as in claim 1 wherein the neck extends outward from the body.

13. The pet toy as in claim 1 wherein the body is made of a material, the material is selected from the group consisting of urethane, polypropylene (PP), low density polypropylene (LDPP), polyvinyl chloride (PVC), elastomers, or a combination thereof.

14. The pet toy as in claim 1 wherein the squeaker assembly includes a reed.

15. The pet toy as in claim 1 wherein the squeaker assembly includes a stop.

16. The pet toy as in claim 1 wherein the squeaker assembly includes a barrel, the first rib is located on the barrel.

17. The pet toy as in claim 1 wherein the body is made of a material, the material has a durometer in the range from 30 to 70.

18. A bladder assembly for a pet toy comprising a bladder and a squeaker assembly, the bladder includes a body and a neck, the body has a spherical shape, the neck extends outward from the body, the neck includes the squeaker assembly.

19. The bladder assembly as in claim 18 wherein the squeaker assembly includes a first rib.

20. The bladder assembly as in claim 19 wherein the first rib is positioned within the body.

21. The bladder assembly as in claim 20 wherein the squeaker assembly includes a second rib, the second rib is positioned within the body.

22. The bladder assembly as in claim 21 wherein the squeaker assembly includes a third rib, the third rib is positioned in the neck.

23. The bladder assembly as in claim 19 wherein the first rib is positioned in the neck.

24. The bladder assembly as in claim 23 wherein the neck includes a groove, the first rib engages the groove.

25. The bladder assembly as in claim 19 wherein the squeaker assembly includes a barrel, the first rib is located on the barrel.

26. The bladder assembly as in claim 18 wherein the body is made of a material, the material is selected from the group consisting of urethane, polypropylene (PP), low density polypropylene (LDPP), polyvinyl chloride (PVC), elastomers, or a combination thereof.

27. The bladder assembly as in claim 18 wherein the squeaker assembly includes a reed.

28. The bladder assembly as in claim 18 wherein the squeaker assembly includes a stop.

29. The bladder assembly as in claim 18 wherein the body is made of a material, the material has a durometer in the range from 30 to 70.

30. A pet toy comprising an outer covering and a bladder assembly, the bladder assembly includes a bladder and a squeaker assembly, the bladder includes a body and a neck, the body has a spherical shape, the neck extends outward from the body, the neck includes the squeaker assembly.

31. The pet toy as in claim 30 wherein the squeaker assembly includes a first rib.

32. The pet toy as in claim 31 wherein the first rib is positioned within the body.

33. The pet toy as in claim 32 wherein the squeaker assembly includes a second rib, the second rib is positioned within the body.

34. The pet toy as in claim 33 wherein the squeaker assembly includes a third rib, the third rib is positioned in the neck.

35. The pet toy as in claim 31 wherein the first rib is positioned in the neck.

36. The pet toy as in claim 35 wherein the neck includes a groove, the first rib engages the groove.

37. The pet toy as in claim 31 wherein the squeaker assembly includes a barrel, the first rib is located on the barrel.

38. The pet toy as in claim 30 wherein the body is made of a material, the material is selected from the group consisting of urethane, polypropylene (PP), low density polypropylene (LDPP), polyvinyl chloride (PVC), elastomers, or a combination thereof.

39. The pet toy as in claim 30 wherein the squeaker assembly includes a reed.

40. The pet toy as in claim 30 wherein the squeaker assembly includes a stop.

41. The pet toy as in claim 30 wherein the body is made of a material, the material has a durometer in the range from 30 to 70.
