1. A system for cooperating with an elongated intramedullary (IM) member during preparation of a bone for receiving a prosthesis, the system comprising:

  • a frame;

    an alignment assembly selectively coupled to the frame, the alignment assembly cooperating with the IM member to position the frame relative to the bone, the alignment assembly including an alignment member having a receiving portion and a bushing selectively received by the receiving portion of the alignment member, the bushing defining a longitudinal axis, an annular groove and a bore configured to accept the IM member therethrough, the alignment member further comprising an engaging portion, wherein the bushing is selectively received by the receiving portion of the alignment member and the engaging portion is movable from a disengaged position to an engaged position, wherein in the engaged position, the engaging portion nests in the annular groove and substantially inhibits movement of the bushing along the longitudinal axis while permitting rotation of the bushing around the longitudinal axis; and

    a cutting block selectively coupled to the frame wherein the engaging portion comprises a knob coupled to a foot, wherein the knob is movable between the disengaged and engaged positions causing the foot to move from a position generally within the body of the alignment member to a position generally into the receiving portion of the alignment member.
