1. An ophthalmic device comprising:
- a polymerized comonomer mixture comprising at least one polymerizable surfactant selected from the group consisting of a poloxamer di(meth)acrylate, a reverse poloxamer di(meth)acrylate, a poloxamine di(meth)acrylate, a reverse poloxamine di(meth)acrylate and mixtures thereof, wherein the at least one polymerizable surfactant is present in the comonomer mixture prior to polymerization in an amount of about 0.1 to about 4.9% weight percent, and further wherein the ophthalmic device is a contact lens, an intraocular lens or a corneal implant.

21. A method of forming an ophthalmic device comprising:

(a) providing a polymerizable mixture comprising a comonomer mixture comprising at least one polymerizable surfactant selected from the group consisting of poloxamer di(meth)acrylate, a reverse poloxamer di(meth)acrylate, a poloxamine di(meth)acrylate, a reverse poloxamine di(meth)acrylate and mixtures thereof, wherein the at least one polymerizable surfactant is present in the comonomer mixture in an amount of about 0.1 to about 4.9% weight percent; (b) subjecting the polymerizable mixture to polymerizing conditions; and
,(c) shaping the polymerizable mixture into the desired shape of the ophthalmic device, and further wherein the ophthalmic device is a contact lens, an intraocular lens or a corneal implant. - View Dependent Claims (22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27)

29. A hydrogel contact lens comprising:
a polymerized comonomer mixture comprising (a) N-vinylpyrollidone;
(b) 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate;
(c) 4-t-butyl-2-hydroxycyclohexyl methacrylate; and
(d) a poloxamer dimethacrylate, wherein the poloxamer dimethacrylate is present in the comonomer mixture prior to polymerization in an amount of about 0.1 to about 4.9% weight percent.
