1. An apparatus for controlling a digital audio source, comprising:
- a turntable;
a disc comprising a time-code signal, wherein the disc is placed on the turntable;
a pick-up element deriving a time-code signal from the disc on the turntable;
a carrier frequency in the audible range of 20 to 20,000 Hz for modulating the time-code signal from the pick-up element;
a filter for demodulating the time-code signal; and
a time-code receiver for receiving the demodulated time-code signal to be used to control a digital audio source.

8. A system for playback of music from a digital audio source, said system comprising:
-
(i) a disc including an analog control signal indicative of velocity of disc play, directionality of disc play and place on the disc of play, said signal comprising information sufficient to determine velocity and directionality of disc play, and including a carrier frequency modulated with an absolute time code indicative of position of play on the disc; (ii) an analog/digital converter for converting the analog signal; and (iii) a processor of the converted signal for determining an accurate time-code signal serving to control, without noticeable delay, music play from the digital audio source at a speed, direction and position corresponding to that of disc play, wherein the processing to determine an accurate time-code signal comprises demodulating the absolute time code signal, determining a relative time code indicating directionality of disc movement, and subjecting the signal to time-code correction.
