1. A method of controlling a mobile terminal, the method comprising:
- controlling a touch screen of the mobile terminal, via a controller of the mobile terminal, to display at least one object, wherein each of the at least one object is divided into a plurality of haptic regions;
receiving an initial touch input, via the touch screen, of one haptic region of the plurality of haptic regions of one of the at least one object;
outputting a control signal, via the controller, for controlling a haptic module of the mobile terminal to generate a haptic effect based on the received initial touch input;
generating the haptic effect, via the haptic module, in response to the output control signal, the generated haptic effect corresponding to the one haptic region that received the initial touch input;
receiving another touch input, via the touch screen, during generation of the haptic effect, wherein the another touch input is received away from the one of the at least one object that includes the one haptic region that received the initial touch input; and
ceasing the generation of the haptic effect based on receipt of the another touch input,wherein the plurality of haptic regions of each of the at least one object includes at least a first haptic region and a second haptic region,wherein the output control signal controls the haptic module to generate the haptic effect corresponding to the first haptic region of the one of the at least one object when the initial touch input is received at the first haptic region of the one of the at least one object,wherein the output control signal controls the haptic module to generate the haptic effect corresponding to the second haptic region of the one of the at least one object when the initial touch input is received at the second haptic region of the one of the at least one object, andwherein the haptic effect corresponding to the first haptic region of the one of the at least one object is different from the haptic effect corresponding to the second haptic region of the one of the at least one object.

Abstract
A mobile terminal and a method of controlling the mobile terminal are provided. The method includes displaying at least one object, which is divided into a plurality of haptic regions, on a touch screen; receiving a touch signal for any one of the haptic regions of the object; and outputting a control signal for controlling a haptic module to generate a haptic effect. Therefore, it is possible for a user to easily determine which of the haptic regions of the object has been touched with the sense of touch.

11. A mobile terminal, comprising:
-
a touch screen configured to; display at least one object, wherein each of the at least one object is divided into a plurality of haptic regions; receive an initial touch input at one haptic region of the plurality of haptic regions of one of the at least one object; and receive another touch input away from the one of the at least one object that includes the one haptic region that received the initial touch input; a haptic module configured to generate a haptic effect; and a controller configured to output a control signal for controlling the haptic module to; generate the haptic effect based on the received initial touch input; and cease the generation of the haptic effect based on receipt of the another touch input, wherein the plurality of haptic regions of each of the at least one object includes at least a first haptic region and a second haptic region, wherein the output control signal controls the haptic module to generate the haptic effect corresponding to the first haptic region of the one of the at least one object when the initial touch input is received at the first haptic region of the one of the at least one object, and controls the haptic module to generate the haptic effect corresponding to the second haptic region of the one of the at least one object when the initial touch input is received at the second haptic region of the one of the at least one object, and wherein the haptic effect corresponding to the first haptic region of the one of the at least one object is different from the haptic effect corresponding to the second haptic region of the one of the at least one object. - View Dependent Claims (12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18)
