1. A method of generating an insemination sample comprising sperm cells having at least one modified, controlled fertility characteristic, the method comprising:

  • a) obtaining a sperm cell sample from a mammal, said sperm cell sample having at least one fertility characteristic;

    b) generating a fluid stream within a flow cytometer or cell sorter to provide a fluid stream pressure capable of modifying said at least one fertility characteristic in said sperm cell sample;

    c) adjusting said fluid stream pressure to control modification of said at least one fertility characteristic;

    d) exposing said sperm cell sample of a) to said fluid stream pressure of c); and

    e) collecting said sperm cell sample after said exposing step d),wherein said collecting of said sperm cell sample provides an insemination sample comprising sperm cells having said at least one modified, controlled fertility characteristic.
