1. A method of treating an eating disorder, comprising:

  • implanting an electrical lead within the thoracic T5, T5/T6 or T6 epidural space of the spinal cord of a patient;

    selecting a plurality of operating parameters for an electrical spinal cord stimulation system that are effective for treating the eating disorder;

    programming the electrical spinal cord stimulation system according to the plurality of operating parameters; and

    treating the patient'"'"'s eating disorder by increasing gastric motility by activating the electrical spinal cord stimulation system to deliver electrical pulses to spinal nervous tissue within the thoracic T5, T5/T6 or T6 epidural space of the wherein gastric function is normalized in the patient.
