1. An electrical stimulation lead comprising:

  • a lead body with a proximal end, a distal end, and a longitudinal length;

    a plurality of conductive contacts disposed at the distal end and the proximal end of the lead body, the plurality of conductive contacts comprisinga plurality of electrodes disposed on the distal end of the lead, anda plurality of terminals disposed on the proximal end of the lead,wherein at least one of the conductive contacts is a first conductive contact that comprises a plurality of adhesive apertures and at least one contact aperture, the plurality of adhesive apertures and the at least one contact aperture each defined between an inner surface and an outer surface of the first conductive contact, wherein the plurality of adhesive apertures are longitudinally aligned along one side of the first conductive contact;

    a plurality of conductors, each conductor electrically coupling at least one of the electrodes to at least one of the terminals, wherein each first conductive contact has at least one of the conductors associated with, and electrically coupled to that first conductive contact;

    a weld disposed on the inner surface of the at least one first conductive contact in proximity to the at least one contact aperture of the at least one first conductive contact to electrically couple that first conductive contact to the at least one associated conductor; and

    a non-conductive adhesive disposed in proximity to the plurality of adhesive apertures of at least one first conductive contact to mechanically couple that first conductive contact to the at least one associated conductor.
