1. A medication-delivery method comprising:

  • inserting a portion of an infusion device into a living being using an insertion needle, the infusion device comprising;

    a body having a body passageway, a top, a bottom surface, an accessible surface that generally gets broader from the top to the bottom surface, and an outer perimeter that is larger at the bottom surface than at the top;

    a cannula having a portion extending from the body, the cannula being positioned such that any exposed portion of the cannula that is above the living being'"'"'s skin is positioned between the living being'"'"'s skin and the body and is within the outer perimeter of the body; and

    a septum positioned in the body passageway, the septum being separate from but coupled to the body, the septum having a bottom surface and being configured such that any injection needle that penetrates the septum and exits the septum bottom surface will exit the septum bottom surface into open space within the body passageway;

    inserting an injection needle through the septum, the injection needle having a first end, a second end, and a length extending between the first and second ends, the injection needle being straight along the length and terminating at the first and second ends;

    injecting medication for the first time into the infusion device after the inserting the portion of the infusion device into the living being; and

    delivering medication to the living being through the injection needle from a source that is not connected to a pump.
