1. A method comprising:

  • introducing a delivery device to a point within a renal artery, the delivery device comprising a primary cannula having a first end, a second end and a medial region between the first end and the second end, wherein the first end comprises a first port and a second port, the medial region comprises at least one longitudinally disposed aperture in fluid communication with the first port such that blood flowing toward the renal artery flows into the primary cannula through the aperture and out the first port to the renal artery, and the second port is adapted for advancing a guidewire there through; and

    delivering a treatment agent along with the blood flowing through the primary cannula from the first port to create a turbulent blood flow into the kidney in addition to any turbulent conditions from the presence of the delivery device in the renal artery, wherein said treatment agent is capable of inhibiting a biological process contributing to nephropathy.
