1. An infusion device comprising:

  • a body having a body passageway, a bottom, and a top, the body passageway having an inwardly-tapered portion extending from a single inlet port in the top, the single inlet port being the body'"'"'s only inlet port for providing access to the body passageway;

    an adhesive laminate member coupled to the bottom of the body;

    a flexible cannula having a cannula passageway, a top, and a portion extending from the bottom of the body, the cannula passageway having a cannula passageway end positioned outside the body, the cannula passageway end having a width;

    a septum positioned within the body passageway, the septum having a first cross-section positioned parallel to an axis centered in the inwardly-tapered portion of the body passageway, the septum first cross-section having (a) a first dimension that is parallel to the axis and (b) a second dimension that is perpendicular to the axis and greater than the first dimension; and

    an insertion needle having a portion positioned in the flexible cannula;

    the top of the flexible cannula being closer to the septum than is the adhesive laminate member; and

    the septum also having a septum top surface that includes a septum top surface portion accessible to an injection needle, the septum top surface portion being bounded by a septum top surface portion perimeter that has a greatest width that is greater than the width of the cannula passageway end.
