1. A method for discontinuous reception (DRX) in a wireless transmit receive unit (WTRU), the method comprising:
- the WTRU receiving DRX configuration information in a radio resource control (RRC) message, the DRX configuration information comprising a DRX cycle periodicity;
while in a RRC_CONNECTED state, the WTRU receiving an indication during DRX active time that data is to be transmitted to the WTRU;
responsive to receiving the indication, the WTRU remaining in active time; and
the WTRU resuming DRX using the received DRX configuration information in response to receiving a DRX activation signal in a medium access control (MAC) message.
