1. A measuring device for performing measurement of characteristics of a bodily fluid using a lancet-integrated sensor that is detachably attached to said measuring device and that is formed by integrating a lancet for lancing skin to collect the bodily fluid and a sensor for analyzing the collected bodily fluid, the lancet-integrated sensor having a protection cover which includes a grip part, said measuring device including:

  • a terminal member arranged to electrically connect with a body of the sensor; and

    a lancet driving mechanism that engages a portion of the lancet, said lancet driving mechanism including an elastic member and a latch;

    wherein said elastic member is provided and arranged to be compressed to store driving power by attaching the lancet-integrated sensor to said measuring device to connect the body of the sensor with said terminal member and to engage the portion of the lancet with said lancet driving mechanism,wherein said latch releasably holds said elastic member in a compressed state, and said latch is arranged such that a lancing operation is performed by release of said latch to drive the lancet, andwherein said lancet driving mechanism is structured such that said elastic member is compressed during attachment of the lancet-integrated sensor to said measuring device by pushing the grip part of the protection cover toward the measuring device.
