Blood glucose tracking apparatus and methods
First Claim
1. A software program originally stored in a measurement module and configured to be communicated to and run on a processing device that is detachably coupled to the measurement module, wherein the processing device includes a processor, a memory, a communication unit, and a display, the software program comprising:
- instructions for the processor to perform a system setup on the processing device, after the software has been communicated from the measurement module to the processing device, wherein the system setup prepares the processor to perform the steps of(a) receiving information related to diabetes management,(b) storing the received information related to diabetes management in the memory,(c) analyzing the stored information related to diabetes management, and(d) transmitting the analyzed information related to diabetes management and/or the stored information related to diabetes management using the communication unit.

Abstract
A measurement module for glucose testing includes a glucose testing measurement module housing, a test strip receptacle formed in the housing, and a connector portion formed in the housing and shaped to permit mechanical removable attachment of the housing to a hand-held computer. Electronics determine the amount of glucose present in a sample of body fluid, when the test strip is positioned in the receptacle and the body fluid is placed on a test strip, and communicate the glucose amount to the hand-held computer via the connector portion.
