1. A method, comprising:

  • determining, by a first communication device, that the first communication device has been selected by a communication server to perform a location detection process among a plurality of communication devices;

    emitting, by the first communication device, an audible locating signal;

    receiving, by the first communication device, from a second communication device of the plurality of communication devices a message indicating that the audible locating signal was determined by the second communication device to match a specified audio signal; and

    in response to determining that the second communication device detected the audible locating signal, storing an indication that the first communication device is in a shared audio space with the second communication device,wherein the second communication device is separate from the communication server.
