1. A method of producing paperboard or a web of paperboard material, the method comprising joining at least two layers of material together, the joining including positioning and implanting an information carrier between the at least two layers of material and providing at least one outer surface of the paperboard or of the web of paperboard material with a marking that indicates the x- and y-positions of the internally disposed implanted information carrier, wherein positioning the information carrier comprises moving an application head that applies the information carrier transversely to a direction of travel of the corrugated paperboard as it moves longitudinally past a first position at which the information carrier is applied, the providing of the marking including positioning the marking using data and control variables that have been used for the positioning and the implanting of the information carrier.
