1. A device for engaging tissue, comprising:
- a body having a central opening therethrough, the body defining a plane when the body is in a relaxed substantially planar configuration, the body being movable from the substantially planar configuration towards a substantially transverse configuration, such that the body has a bias to move from the substantially transverse configuration toward the substantially planar configuration when the body is deployed from a delivery device, the body being configured for delivery from the delivery device in the substantially transverse configuration; and
a plurality of tines extending from the body into the opening, the tines being oriented generally within the plane when the body is in the relaxed substantially planar configuration, and generally angularly orientated relative to the plane when the body is in the transverse configuration, at least one of the plurality of tines comprises a stop member disposed between a tip of the tine and a location where the tine extends from the body.

Abstract
A clip for engaging tissue includes a generally annular-shaped body defining a plane and disposed about a central axis extending normal to the plane. The body includes alternating inner and outer curved regions, defining a zigzag pattern about a periphery of the clip. The body is biased towards a planar configuration lying in the plane and deflectable towards a transverse configuration extending out of the plane. Tines extend from the inner curved regions, the tines being oriented towards the central axis in the planar configuration, and parallel to the central axis in the transverse configuration. The tines may include primary tines and secondary tines that are shorter than the primary tines. The primary tines may be disposed on opposing inner curved regions and oriented towards one another such that they overlap in the planar configuration.

11. A device for engaging tissue, comprising:
-
a body having a central opening therethrough, the body defining a plane when the body is in a relaxed substantially planar and expanded configuration, the body being movable from the substantially planar configuration towards a transverse and compressed configuration extending out of the plane, the body having a bias to move from the transverse and compressed configuration toward the substantially planar and expanded configuration such that the body automatically moves from the transverse and compressed configuration toward the substantially planar and expanded configuration when the body is deployed from a delivery device; and at least one primary tine having a first length, the at least one primary tine extending from the body into the opening in the substantially planar and expanded configuration and being deflectable out of the plane when the body is moved towards the transverse and compressed configuration; and at least one secondary tine having a second length different from said first length, the at least one secondary tine extending from the body into the opening when the body is disposed in the substantially planar and expanded configuration, and being deflectable out of the plane when the body is moved towards the transverse and compressed configuration. - View Dependent Claims (12, 13, 14)
