1. An automatic medical balloon inflation device comprising:

  • a fluid pump attachable to a balloon catheter and configured to provide fluid pressure to a balloon at a distal end of the balloon catheter, wherein the balloon catheter is associated with baseline pressure data that is representative of inflation characteristics of the balloon catheter under a no-load condition;

    a computer configured to control the fluid pressure created by the fluid pump; and

    a pressure sensor operably attached to the computer and configured to provide data to the computer corresponding to the fluid pressure created by the fluid pump,wherein prior to the fluid pump providing the fluid pressure to the balloon for a balloon inflation procedure, the computer is configured to receive computer-readable data associated with the balloon catheter comprising the baseline pressure data that is representative of the inflation characteristics of the balloon catheter under the no-load condition, andwherein when the fluid pump provides the fluid pressure to the balloon during the balloon inflation procedure, the computer is configured to compare the baseline pressure data to the data received by the computer from the pressure sensor corresponding to the fluid pressure created by the fluid pump.
