1. A system for percutaneous transluminal closure of a cardiac opening, comprising:

  • a catheter comprising a lumen, a proximal end, and a distal end;

    a frame comprising a proximal end and a distal end, the frame enclosed within the lumen of the catheter and moveable beyond the distal end of the catheter, wherein the frame comprises a plurality of arms at the frame'"'"'s distal end, the plurality of arms being expandable from a closed position when maintained within the catheter to an open position when advanced beyond the distal end of the catheter, wherein each of the plurality of arms comprises a resilient coil at which the arm bends in the closed position; and

    a patch comprising a plurality of hollow channels, said plurality of hollow channels are enclosed within the patch having a common first end and second ends away from the common first end, and is contiguous with the lumen of the catheter, wherein the plurality of arms of the frame are maintained within the plurality of hollow channels of the patch, and wherein the plurality of arms are retractable from the plurality of hollow channels to deploy the patch.
