1. An apparatus for monitoring a plurality of bodily parameters of an individual, said apparatus comprising:

  • a scale having a platform adapted to receive the individual, said scale comprising;

    a body fat sensor for generating an output proportional to body fat of the individual;

    a body water sensor for generating an output proportional to body water of the individual; and

    a weight sensor for sensing a load on the platform and generating an output proportional to weight of the individual;

    a display unit;

    a processor coupled to said body fat, body water and weight sensors; and

    a memory coupled to said processor,wherein said processor contains computer code, said code causes the outputs of said body fat, body water and weight sensors to be recorded in said memory and to be displayed by said display unit, andwherein said processor is operative to calculate a measure indicative of an overall fitness level for the individual by combining the outputs of the body fat sensor, body water sensor and the weight sensor and one or more inputs pertaining to a plurality of vital statistics of the user.
