Remote starter with universal bypass module
First Claim
1. A remote starter system comprising:
- a receiver for receiving wireless signals;
a controller electrically coupled to the receiver and a starter system of an associated vehicle, wherein the controller is adapted to provide power to the starter system to start an engine of the associated vehicle in response to a first signal being received by the receiver; and
,a bypass module adapted to enable the remote starter system to be utilized to start the engine of the associated vehicle wherein the associated vehicle comprises a transponder-based vehicle security system and to start the engine of the associated vehicle wherein the associated vehicle comprises a resistance-based vehicle security system, the bypass module is in electrical communication with the controller, and the controller controls a first switching mechanism to selectively electrically couple the bypass module to the starter system.
