1. A method of reducing out-of-band emissions, the method comprising:

  • a subscriber station receiving a radio frequency (RF) signal including an indication of an allocated RF band that is a subset of an RF band otherwise fully available to the subscriber station for uplink transmissions, wherein the allocated RF band is selected to be biased away from at least one band of interest to reduce out-of-band emissions therein;

    the subscriber station generating a transmit signal;

    the subscriber station filtering the transmit signal to a signal band that is based on the allocated RF band; and

    the subscriber station offsetting a frequency of a Local Oscillator (LO) of the subscriber station from a first LO frequency to a second LO frequency;

    wherein a magnitude of a difference between the first LO frequency and the second LO frequency is based at least in part on a difference between a width of the RF band otherwise fully available to the subscriber station for uplink transmissions and a width of the signal band.
